George Rodgers, MD, PhD, is a physician in hematology who was recruited to Huntsman Cancer Institute in 1999 for his expertise in the diagnosis and management of bleeding and clotting disorders. He treats patients with cancerous and non-cancerous blood disorders. He is a professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Rodgers has research interests in blood clotting disorders related to cancerous and non-cancerous conditions, and he is currently involved in a study investigating an anticoagulant (anti-clotting) therapy that may prolong survival in certain cancer patients.

He received his MD/PhD at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed an internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and later, a fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. He has practiced internal medicine and hematology for more than 20 years and has more than 100 publications in medical literature. In addition to his appointments with Huntsman Cancer Institute and the University of Utah School of Medicine, Rodgers is director of the Coagulation Laboratory at ARUP Laboratories.
