HCI Investigator

"Genetic research in Utah is successful due to the enthusiastic participation of individuals who often have extraordinarily well kept family records that go back many generations."

The collaborative research approach between doctors and scientists, with an emphasis on investigating the genetic basis of cancer, makes Huntsman Cancer Institute one of the leading cancer research organizations in the country.

Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid Training

The caBIG Training Site at the University of Utah is a designated National Cancer Institute support service provider for caBIG training materials and services.

Cancer Center Shared Resources

Access to shared resources such as the Utah Population Database, specialized laboratories that perform essential research services such as DNA sequencing and Microarray analysis is advantageous.

Cancer Center Support Grant

Huntsman Cancer Institute is an NCI designated cancer center.

Cancer Genetics: HCI's Vision

Huntsman Cancer Institute is dedicated to understanding, detecting and treating cancer at a genetic level. This leads to therapies that are better able to attack the root cause of the disease.

Center for Investigational Therapeutics

The Center for Investigational Therapeutics Program is part of our bench to bedside approach to cancer and its treatment. In the laboratory, scientists strive to find new cancer therapies while working with physicians in the clinical setting who seek to develop safe dosages and regimens for patients. The end result is a Phase 1 clinical trial (first-in-man) which tests new drugs on cancer patients.

Clinical Trials Program

Cancer research is advanced by those participating in clinical trials.

Department of Oncological Sciences

Established in 1994, the Department of Oncological Sciences performs research and provides training with an emphasis in cancer biology.

Director's Translational Research Initiative

Graduate Studies

Future scientists and graduate students train to develop skills while participating in exciting, leading edge research projects.

High Risk Cancer Research Programs

Progress is made due to research, education, and treatment of identified families of high incident breast, melanoma, and some types of colon cancer.

Our Cancer Investigators

Progress depends upon the efforts of clinical and laboratory scientists dedicated to new understanding, detection and treatment methods.

Molecular Imaging Program

Multidisciplinary Cancer Research Training Program

Research Labs

The collaborative research approach between doctors and scientists, with an emphasis on investigating the genetic basis of cancer.

Undergraduate Summer Research

The Huntsman Cancer Institute Summer Internship Program for undergraduate students is a ten-week program sponsored by the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
