Louis Barrows, PhD

Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

Louis Barrows, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Utah and a member of the Gastrointestinal Cancers Program.

Barrows is interested in the discovery of new anticancer therapies. He also focuses on the cellular targets of anticancer drugs and DNA damage and repair. He studies extracts and organisms from coral reefs and tropical rain forests as part of his research.

He received a bachelor’s degree at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a PhD from the University of California, Irvine.
