| Charles Grissom, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry at the University of Utah and a member of the Imaging, Diagnostics, and Therapeutics Program.
Grissom’s research focuses on the targeted delivery of cancer drugs. His lab developed a new method to target the delivery of cytotoxic anticancer drugs and fluorescent tumor imaging agents to tumor cells by using vitamin B12 as a “Trojan horse” delivery vehicle. His lab was involved in the development of a patented, novel hand-held fluorometer for the detection of sentinel lymph nodes using diluted fluorescein.
Grissom earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Riverside, and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
