Glen Hanson, PhD

Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

Glen Hanson, PhD, DDS, is a professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Utah and a member of the Cancer Control and Population Sciences Program.

Hanson studies psychopharmacology and the process of drug addiction and dependence, particularly tobacco and alcohol, which are known cancer-causing agents. He hopes to develop strategies to prevent or treat nicotine and other addictions.

He received a doctorate of dental surgery from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a PhD from the University of Utah.
